Internet access failing A LOT

Specs: Windows 7
Every day for the past week my Internet access goes down. I have a netgear router connected to Comcast modem. I have to reset the modem then the router constantly and it gets irritating. I called comcast and they say reset them. But why should I have to constantly reset.... Sometimes I just ignore it and it comes back up later... what is going on??

This could be a router issue. Check for a more up-to-date firmware for the router. If there is one, apply it and see if the problem doesn't go away.

If the problem doesn't go away, try resetting it to factory defaults and then reconfigure it.

If none of the above fixes the issue, you may need to replace the router.
