Specs: Macintosh

I am very newbie in networking. My company's IP address will be running out soon. The range of Ip that are currently using is from what will be the option available? Correct me if i am wrong, i can either

1. expand the subnet from /23 to /22 that will mean the ip address will increase fro 512 to 1024.

2. start using that will give us another 512 free IPs.

Please advice

512 is the maximum you are going to get from that range no matter how you arrange it.

AS these are Class B Private addresses you can expand them as much as you like, anywhere between to You may need to make other adjustments depending on how the network is configured.

you need to supernet. when you do so you can only supernet within ranges. you would want to start with what you have so you don't have to renumber everything like you would going from x.x.2.x to x.x.3.x. You just have to change the subnet mask

\22 = 1024 -

\23 = 512 -

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
