improve internet speed in a fraternity house

Specs: N/A
So I am currently living in a fraternity with 60-70 other guys and our internet is slow at best. Currently we have 2 business connections from time warner cable and each of those connect to a apple wireless router. We dont have the speed i think we should and the range is very poor, and one of the routers seems to not work all the time. Is there any advice you can give me to speed up the internet in my house, is there anything we can buy?

Out of the 60-70 guys, how many of them are using point-to-point sharing software to upload/download files (you know, illegal movies, music, software)?

How many of those 60-70 guys are surfing/watching porn movies/clips at any given time?

All downloading and video streaming hogs bandwidth.

If you could get the bandwidth hogs to quit (good luck with that) it would improve everyone's bandwidth. If you have the cash, and you're able to run another internet connection in, I'd pay for my own and not share it with anybody else.

Yes, I agree, 60-70 guys sharing two Internet connections it is bound to be slow, just couldn't be anything else.

Five people sharing a single connection in a conventional household slows things down so 60-70 is going to be painful to watch.

With just my wife and I sharing our 6 Mbps internet connection, if I'm gaming online and she downloads anything, my game starts lagging and locking up immediately.

If it were me, I'd get my own connection if at all possible and I wouldn't share with anybody else! LOL
