What kind of network is it? Is this a home network running off a modem/router? Is there something assigning DHCP already? Or is this a closed network operating only on a LAN switch?

If you have to allocate IPs manually then use any in the 192.168.0.xxx range where xxx is any number from 0 to 254 that is not in use by another device on the network.

You can't use 0. This means 1-254 are available for assignment.
