Specs: Vista
IE not working. Says that computer is not setup for http World Wide Internet. A few hours prior to this the machine was functioning fine and surfing the web normally.

Some suggestions:

- Think about anything you did before facing this problem, try to revert the change.

- Advise you to scan computer by using antivirus/anti-malware application (with latest signature of course)

- Test to use other web browser (Mozilla, Opera, Google Chrome, etc) to access Internet, see whether it's browser problem.

http World Wide Internet

Giving us the exact error message would help a lot. I doubt it said anything about http World Wild Internet. The Internet is World Wide by default. What it might have said is something about the World Wide Web which just happens to use the Internet to do its thing.

Accuracy is important when describing problems.
