i need to boost my WIFI signal,how would i do

Specs: Windows 7, Intel celeron 925@2.30GHZ'2294MHZ, 2G RAMM
my laptop is being used inside a metal building,its picking up a WIFI signal but its very weak and i cant connect to it. i've seen videos on youtube about boosting WIFI signal,is this possible other than moving laptop around till it get the best signal.i downloaded, easy wifi radar but it doesnt seem to be compaitable with win. 7 os,reviews on it on other os were good.

Metal building is a Faraday shield. Your antenna has to be outside of the building.

watch one of the many youtube videos on wireless enhancement.
use a usb wireless dongle with an extender and the enhancement near a open window to improve reception
