This can be done but really is not worth the time and and can only really be done if the other laptops are connected to your with a cable but is very hard to set up to work. Do you not have wireless?

You can always get a second router connect that to the Main one and set up the second as a bridge this allows people to connect to that one and use the same internet connection.

This is what i have done at home.

Thanks let me know if this helps.

If it's Windows OS, you could enable Internet Connection Sharing on 1st laptop as shown here, after that connect other computers to 1st laptop wired or wireless to access to Internet.

Hope this helps.

I did this before for an experiment but the speed was really slow and not worth it in the end. £25-£30 get a router and Bridge connection is the faster option. the second laptop connected to your 1st one will run off the speed you laptop wireless is outputting at which will not bee much.

yeah really really connecting to another computer to access the internet the more on it the slower it will be. I never did it with wireless I used cable from one pc to another, if you have ever done a remote desktop to another computer then gone on internet its really slow.
