I Can't join a Windows 2008 Server

Specs: Windows Vista
I can't join a Windows 2008 Server from client computer running Windows Vista Business Edition. I get the message "Network path not Found" yet I can ping the server and the server can ping my computer.

try joining the server by typing the IP address instead of the computer name

client you want to join needs to be pointed at the MS dns server for dns not the internet or gateway.

if you have to use ip address it means DNS server is not setup correctly and that will lead to further issues with Active Directory.
