Well ive been using my wireless router dlink for a long time, and today my son did something with it. Now, i can see the wireless name pop up in my list of wireless networks, but it gets stuck when i try to connect, and the connecting screen will just dissappear after a while. I dont want to change the router to factory settings, though. Plus, the network sometimes dissappears from sight somehow. Can anyone help? Thx.

Btw, ive already tried the distance. Even outting my laptop right next to the router wont work.

do you require a network wep key or wpa-psk(2) passphrase to connect to your wireless? Perhaps your son has changed this setting. Does a padlock show up beside the wireless in the list or does it tell you it is a secured network of some type. I suspect you need a code for the network.

He must have enabled the ssid broadcast on the wireless router. Do you know protocol you are using? WEP, WPA/WPA2? Like hopperRox said you will need the password to access the network. Can you log onto the router?
