I can't connect to my Zyxel router wirelessly

September 8, 2010 at 15:23:07
Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate
I can connect if the ethernet cable is in but not if it is removed. I tried changing the key but I am not even sure of the key as I have had this router for years. I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate. I was able to get onto the net via an unsecured connection that I found, but not from my own router! I admit I am not very savvy about all of this. Can someone help?

What happens if you disable the encryption, will it connect?

I see the encryption. It says WEP. And the security type says no authentication (open). I could change the encryption to none. There are also several choices for the security type. Shall I change one or both?
