Specs: Windows XP, pentium 4/1BG
I have been working on this for 2 days... I have checked my dns server all ok other computers can connect. moved this computer to different connection used a good computer at this connection, gave this computer a static IP, ran numerous virus/malware/hijacker programs, with no luck.

I am able to get on my network and do any connection I want but just cant get to the internet.

Also, this was working but just stopped.
Anybody got any suggestions?

How many routers do you have? If you have more than one, check the one that computer is plugged into and see whether it is connected to your ISP's connection. Also check whether you did not disable your internet connection.
To get there:
My Network Places
Under Network Tasks, click View Network connections.

If you see the internet connection is disabled, then right click it and click enable.

checked routers and switches, there are 20 computers on the network. total of 3 computers having the same problem. all other computers on the router and switch work fine. All network adapters are able to ping the outside addresses but cannot resolve outside names. As I said in my post all computers are on the internal network.

On both a computer that isn't working, and one that is, open a command prompt window (ie: Start >> Run >> type cmd and hit Enter) and perform the following command:

ipconfig /all

Compare the output paying special attention to the DNS address(es) and the Default Gateway address. Are they the same? If not, ensure they are and test.

If they are the same report back here with your findings.

Curt and all,
Thanks for your help with this. I found the winsockfix.exe program and ran it on one of the machines. It fixed the problem.
