HP Wireless printer still wont print

October 13, 2011 at 13:02:12
Specs: Windows XP
Since Hurricane Irene and we lost power I have not been able to get my HP wireless printer to print. I have reset the router, the cable, the computer and the printer all with no success. I believe that the printers IP address is no longer the same as my computer, but I'm not sure how to get it to match. I no longer have the HP start up disk. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You are my last hope before I call our Tech Guy. I hate for him to come out to the house for something I know will take him 2 minutes to fix and I'll be charged for a full hour. Thanks in advance for your help. I am running Windows XP

If it were me, I'd delete the existing printer and reinstall it on the computer.

To find proper drivers, search "[model] dirver downloads" on the manufacturer's webstie. For example, for an HP LaserJet 4000 you would search, on HP's website, LaserJet 4000 driver downloads

That actually one thing I haven't done yet, so I will take your advice and let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the help.

It's entirely possible the power outage caused some printer related file to become corrupted and reinstalling the printer will fix that. Do get back to us and let us know if that worked.
