Hi - I have a HP1767c desktop and want to know if i can use USB adaptor for wireless LAN. can someone please help me

Why shouldn't it?
If you have USB plugs, you normally can use wireless USB adapter for your wireless LAN.

The needed drivers should be included with the USB wlan adapter.

The most important point is, does the USB adapter support your operating system.

Sorry for not clear on my question. I was rather having doubts if the motherboard can support USB type WLAN adapters or should i got for PCI modules. like are there any specific requirements from motherboard perspective.
Yes the adaptor support Windows Vista OS.

Ok so you can use PCI wireless network card, but the most common problem is, that the wireless antenna of the PCI card it at the back side of the computer, close to a heater or something like that.
In that case, you will probaly get bad signal strength.

A USB wireless adapter can also be plugged by using USB extension cord. So you can place the USB wireless stick, where you get a better signal strength.
