I have a Ricoh network printer that I want to share across 2 networks. I have the following ip scheme Network 1: 192.168.1.0/24 and network 2: 192.168.10.0/24. The printer is currently on Network 1. I was thinking I need tr "bridge" them but not sure
You can't "bridge" subnets. You route between subnets. Choices are;
1. put a second nic in the Ricoh and connect it to the other subnet
2. put in a router between subnets. do understand this may open the networks to each other when they are meant to be closed from each other.
can that be a simple router like a linksys? Or do I need something sophisticated with an OS like a Cisco?
why do you have two subnets? Linksys is cisco, which should be fine, but you should not need a cisco pix firewall unless you wish to restrict who can come thru the router.
