how to set up a hard drive through ethernet

Specs: Windows 7
at work we have 3 pcs that all share files an they need to back it all up on a hard drive so we have gotten a 2tb hard drive that is pluged into the ethernet port on the switch port and installed the back up softwear on the pcs was all ok did a search to back up to a ftm .. so i was able to access the drive through loged in formatted it and was all ok but once i got the saving back up part i got stuck it was asking for a ftm user name port number and file location
i was able to find some settings am i able to set it up so all the pcs can see it on the net work an we can just back up to that ?

I would also suggest you read the manual for your nas unit setup.

This nas [network attached storage is what we call a network attached drive] will have an interface for setting up user accounts and passwords. It will also have a utility for setting up shares.
