You shouldn't need to make any changes in policy editor.

Typically all you should need to do is create a port forward in your SOHO router and allow access on the server's firewall if it's enabled.

For example, lets say your server is a web server and it's LAN IP is 192.168.1.10. On your SOHO router you would create a port forward that lets http (port 80) go to 192.168.1.10. Then you would open 80 on the server's firewall.
