question wasn't about doing static ips

cat_misterius you set both to obtain ip automatically. They should default when no dhcp server is found to a 169.254.x.x ip and will be able to communicate.

I'd tried the DHCP server B4 in hoc network and the result was nothing :)

static is rock in this case

autoassigned should be enabled by default which is what generates the 169 ip address.

To to the tcp/ip v4 properties [where you assigned the static ip] and on the "alternative configuration" tab make sure "automatic private ip address" is selected.

You may want to consider using a product like mhotspot or conectify to make a true hotspot out of your wireless laptop.
