WIFI is not working in my Dell inspiron 15R 5520.
I was able to connect the wifi router when I was using windows 8. But after upgrading my laptop to Windows 8.1, I was unable to use wifi connection.
Give me the details about how to fix this problem. Here are some additional details
Inspiron 15R 5520

Service Tag(S/N): 9N78MV1
You can download it right from dell support. Some laptops have a little switch or toggle keys function for turning on/off the wifi. Be sure the wifi is on. Here is the link for the wifi driver, found under "Network" section in drivers. http://www.dell.com/support/home/us...
To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!
Presumably it (wifi) isn't simply disabled or switched off? Does the device (wifi adapter) show in the system hardware profile (device manager)?
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windo...
describes how to check that area.
Is it there and is there a yellow exclamation mark next to the wifi adapter (under the network adapters "button")?
Meanwhile... going to the Dell.com site support area and entering your service tag details one finds this list of drivers available for Windows 8.1:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us...
Have you checked there that you have all drivers as listed?
And another Dell (ftp) site where there are most/all current drivers listed...
You "may" find the the Windows 8.0 driver will work OK?
Failing which contact Dell and see what they suggest?
