Hi All,
This is very critical cause which I am facing in our company..
Actually, 1 user had returned his laptop to tech team in 10th of jan.2011. Now it is lost and we could not found..
It is showing in active directory that someone was logged on that laptop " Last login 8 march" But it is not showing user name. the sr. no. is CNU0074CMZ. can we find with the sr. no.?

You could try removing the computer from Active Directory and see who complains that they can't log on.

That may not work but since the computer is presently in unknown hands removing it from Active Directory would be a good security measure. Serial numbers do not travel on networks.

Ya, you are right. we can delete the account, but user can use cash login.

It's not foolproof, and if the laptop has been stolen then you won't find it anyway. But if the laptop has merely been misplaced it is quite likely that whoever has it will try to log on to the network some time.

In any case, as has already been mentioned, it's now a security risk. You should have deleted its account as soon as you realised that you had lost it.
