how to disable drivers at defualt share

November 5, 2010 at 08:11:08
Specs: Windows XP
Here is my problem: I just installed win xp on my computer. My hard drive is partitioned into 3(c:,d:,e:). For some reason it automatically sets these 3 drives to share. I have gone into the properties of each drive and disabled the share for them, but when I reboot my pc they become shared again. And the "comment" for each drive is "default share". Is there anyway I can turn this default off??

These are default administrative shares. There is a registry edit that will set them to disabled but those that pursue this usually think they are securing their pc when they really are not.

Google disable default shares for the how to.
