My daughter gave me a dell PC . It has a wireless drive installed in it. I want to connect to a dsl cable . But the wireless drive does not let me . It disable my isp address and won't allow the connection . Apparenetly the wireless connection changed the port id. \
First of all, you mean a wireless network card, not a wireless drive. You also mean an IP address, not an ISP address. You need to disable the wireless network card, in the device manager. How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
Thanks for your respond. However. I did disable it like you suggested, But when I try to get on the internet with my cable. I still have trouble. My firewall still block me and I have turn it off. The wireless drive have lock the ports .I hope you understand my problem. I need a way to remove this drive complete so it won't lock up my ports. Thanks for you tips. Walter
Why do users mark a problem solved but don't say how they solved it? How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
I don't know, why does he still insist on calling it a wireless drive? Walter, not to be rude but clearly you don't understand this technology and it doesn't sound like you are willing to listen and learn. You do not have a wireless drive, you have a wireless network card. Nor is it blocking your ports whatever that means. If you had followed guapo's advice and turned it off in the device manager, then it would not be interacting with your computer at all.
How have you determined your firewall is blocking you and what makes you think the wireless card is responsible?
I suggest you take your computer to your local computer shop and have them work on your system.
