how to create icon of missing local area conn

Specs: Windows XP
i have re installed xp on my p.c. after that local area connection icon is not available, so i cant access inter net connection

just goto my network places, and find local area connection, then right click on local area connection, goto properties and click on show network........

Check your Device Manager and see if your network interface is listed there. If it is, does it have an exclamation mark beside it? If it does, it's not installed properly.

If DM lists no network interface, or there's an "unkown device" listed (and no NIC) then your NIC isn't installed properly and needs to be.
