You can add those sites to the hosts file with the loop back IP address but if he boots with a Live CD, you can forget about that or any other filter. Children are smarter than you think.

It's better to teach them how to be street wise. They need that anyway. That is, if your street wise yourself.

If you have a router that supports content filtering you can block at that level also. I scared the heck out of my kids when they get the popup denied by netgear router. I would get a email at work concerning the incident and that double scared them when I came home to discuss it with them.
