Since that is obviously not the cause of the problem you need to look elsewhere. Two suggestions spring to mind:
1) The wifi adapter can be enabled/disabled in BIOS Setup, so check in there and if necessary enable it.
2) Try re-installing the wireless adapter driver. You can download it from the Dell Support website that's appropriate for your country. For the UK it's here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk...
For other countries, click "United Kingdom" at top-left of page and select your country from the drop-down list. It's essential you choose the correct country first to avoid the risk of getting the wrong driver or not being able to find your model.
