How do you hook a laptop to a pc so I CAN RUN

Specs: Windows 7
I need to hook my laptop to my pc so I will beable to run the programs that are on the (old laptop) on the new pc (autocad) is on my laptop I need the speed of my desktop to run it now. I need to make it some thing like a slave too the PC, can this be done?

You can not run programs from one on the other.

You need to install the programs on your new pc.

You can connect both computers to network, and enable remote desktop feature on computer, so that could be remote accessed from other computer. Maybe this is what you are looking for.

I did not think you could run programs from one on the other but the programs that I need in the laptop is Autocad and Carlson design software. I have the carlson disk and could load it on my pc but the autocad disk are lost and you need both for the carlson to work. What can I do than and what about a twisted cable someone told me about.

You would contact autocad and purchase a new disk after giving them your present licence so they can check the validity of it.

As suggested by picohat you can use a crossover cable and remote desktop to connect the new pc to the old one but this really accomplishs nothing. You are still running autocad on the old pc.
