It really depends on what level of knowledge you are starting at and how many users you are planning to link up as there are loads of resources in books and on the internet that can help with basic networking, but for anything out of the ordinary then you need someone who knows what they are doing - networking is a profession after all...

If you don't know anything about networking then I would strongly advise you to get a professional to advise you. The potential damage to your business supposing you got, for example, the firewall wrong is not worth risking.

Suppose you wanted an extension to your office built, but you knew nothing about building work. Would you try to do it yourself?

Unless you have specific questions, I would suggest doing a search and finding some good general reading on the subject. Basic networking isn't hard, but it takes study to understand the concepts and applications. When you have specific questions forums are very useful.
