I have 2 computers hooked to a network, both have windows XP I want to get rid of the computer that the printer is physically connected to and move it to the other pc on the network
From your post the printer looks like a shared one more than a real network device. If so just connect it to another PC on the LAN and make it shared or connect it to your local machine and install its drivers.
To add to that, you will then have to delete the printer from the other PCs on your network and "Install new network printer" on each so they learn the new path.
( In WIN7 machines, the method of installing a printer that is physically attached to another PC in the network is actually counter-intuitive. You dont select "Network Printer" but have to install as a local printer but create a port with the network address of the printer.
