How do I connect my Wireless Lite N Access point to my Modem

April 20, 2012 at 05:26:23
Specs: Windows 7
I have a TP Link 150Mbps Wireless Lite N Access Point.
My question is that I want to connect it with a DSL modem through WiFi and plug in an old computer. (I don't have wireless adapter on old computer which is why I want to use Wireless access point) however I'm unable to do that.

The operation modes are following.
1) Access Point
2) Multi-SSID
3) Client
4) Repeater
5) Universal Repeater
6) Bridge with AP

Please help me choose the right operation mode so that I could connect AP with my DSL modem and use internet on old computer.

This modem you speak of, is it a combination unit? Which is to say, it's a combination modem/wireless router.

If it's just a modem, it's not wireless capable and you can't connect an AP to it wirelessly.

If it's a combo device, or you have a modem and separate wireless SOHO router, you would bridge it to your existing WLAN to connect via wireless.
