Specs: Windows 7
How do I connect my laptop computer (w/Windows 7) to my home computer (w/Windows XP) so that I can access my home computer with my laptop and use the programs and files on that home computer. I do have a wireless modem for internet and have thought about just using a service like “PC anywhere” to accomplish what I want to do, but I would like to avoid the monthly service fee.

"Wireless modem"? Exactly what is it?

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
