Ok, my roomate is hogging the bandwidth on our shared router downloading junk. I'm not sure if he's using a torrent, but just in case he is here is my question: How do I turn off the ports for torrenting on my qwest pk5000 modem? Is there anything else I can do that would work as well?
My friend reccommended I turn off every port after 9000 or something. How should I do that?
does your router support Qos
Buy a SOHO Router that has a linux based firmware that can be replaced by Tomato firmware. Then using the QoS built into Tomato, you can shut bittorrent right off, or limit the bandwidth to such a small amount your roomie can't up/download anything. If that's not possible, if you can afford your own internet connection, I'd go that route.
