Yes, it is possible. Not simple, but possible.

But of you are only one that needs to access the file, why put it on the Internet. There are far easier and cheaper ways of having constant access to a particular file. A USB memory stick will do the same job as the Internet for next to nothing.

There are two ways to do it, first you can host the file yourself or you can pay some one to host it for you. Hosting it yourself requires a computer with an FTP server installed that you can access from any where.

FilesZilla is a good one. You need the server on your computer at home that hosts the file and the client on your computer in the office.

A hosting company makes space available for rent for people to use and access. This sort of thing is for people that wish to have their own web servers for for on-line back up.

There are plenty of companies offering an on-line backup service but they cost money.

You could always send yourself an e-mail with the file as an attachment, just don't delete the e-mail.
As long as you have access to your e-mail, you have access to your file.

That wont work because as soon as the file is updated, it will be out of date. The original will still be on the computer at home and that will also need to be updated and the email resent every time it is..

Another possible solution to the problem is "Log me in" which allows remote access to another computer.

use Mosy for the free 2gig storage. This way you can update the file from anywhere.
