Did you check the "Enable" box and click "Save Settings". In most cases the router will restart.

yes I checked the "Enable" box and click save settings. The router restarted but the sites were still opening.

@ADENIYI

Convert DNS TO IP :
http://whatismyipaddress.com/hostna...

Results for "https://www.youtube.com" :
Lookup Hostname: www.youtube.com
Lookup IPv4 Address: 172.217.5.78
Lookup IPv6 Address: 2607:f8b0:4005:807::200e

Check IPv4 Validity with/in Address Bar of Browser. If it Passed, Use IPv4 (Example 172.217.5.78) and Save ... .

Good Luck.

Some routers can not block https domains. You need to block a "http" website to check.

Thank you for your response. Will I need to use the IP address to block the site or how exactly will I block the site, on the D-Link Router, after converting DNS to IP address?

Router: D-Link
Firmware version: V2.00
Product: DWR-921

Please kindly assist me.

Your Words : {
went to advance settings clicked on URL, typed in the web adress e.g. "https://www.youtube.com" but realized that the router did not block it.
}

@ADENIYI

After click on URL, Type IP, For Example 172.217.5.78 , Only.
You Can Use IP .OR. Web Address (URL) In your internet browser (In address bar/location bar/URL bar) or in Router.

Good Luck.

Only "youtube.com" returns a valid IP address.
Try nslookup for this domain in your region.

In a cmd prompt enter: nslookup youtube.com
