In this case, I suspect your "wifi" is your "home" network....or at least, the wireless portion of it. You would also have a "wired" side as well if your 2wire device has 4 LAN ports on it like the one I used to use had.

All your pic's and data are located on computers so changes to your router won't affect that data. It might affect your ability to access the computers containing said data (and therefore the data itself) but it won't destroy it.

I need some details of your WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network). What level of encryption are you using? (ie: WEP, WPA) Did you include an encryption key (password) that has to be entered to connect the first time?

Also, I'm still a little unsure what you mean by adding another connection so perhaps you could give me a little more detail. I think you mean connecting another wireless device to your WLAN but thought I'd better be sure before I say more.

wpa,I changed /reset the default settigs on it,however, they somehow overrode it & created a mobile hotspot off of mine(from a app)...Im sick of getting taking advantage of,because i dont know how to set up my connectiion secure or get any kins of help,(WITHOUT THESE TYPES OF MOTIVES).Plus they are the ones who set up my android tablet also,Cuz im new to all this....which my tablet is linked to pc...so ive had major issues!! UGH!!!All i needed to do is set up a secure home network, then estb. a wifi connection to hook up all my devices...But that has never been done correctly& thats what i mean,if i start over-,go in & change everything, then somehow figure out how to hook up my wifi,so i can use my tablet,my wifi printer & all that...Will i loss all my pics, data & all that?

As I said in my first response.........your data and pics are contained on your computer(s)/tablet, not on your router. Resetting your router will not affect said data/pics.

I have two suggestions for you which would work to get your network configured. I recommend you choose one and go with it:
1) If you have a friend who's computer savvy and has setup a home network, including WiFi, invite them over, buy them a beer and feed them dinner in exchange for getting you setup.

2) Pay a qualified professional who works for a known business that has credentials, qualifications, and recommendations from previous customers that you can check into.

On a side note, whatever you do, encrypt your wireless network using WPA2 and, use an entirely new encryption key. Also, ensure your router is set to not allow wireless clients to access it's management interface.

Just an FYI, the way you type is extremely hard to read. In the future, try typing like you're literate and aware of proper capitalization, punctuation and spacing. It would make it a lot easier on those of us you're asking for help.
