|Most any PCI RAID controller will work with most any mobo. I'm not familiar with freenas but don't see why you'd need it. If you think of your homemade NAS as a file server (essentially it is), then the steps are: build your RAID, install your OS (XP) and then connect it to the network. Share the RAID'd volume(s) and there's your "NAS".|
