Yes, you can network them together. To do so you would need to use a crossover cable. Once connected you'd need to give them IP addresses so they could communicate:

PC 1:
Subnet Mask:

PC 2:

Then you'd need to share a folder on one and map to it from the other. If you do that and get asked for a password there's an easy way to make that stop. Just click on my name above in my response and read my "how-to" guide titled, "You try to connect to a share but are asked for a Username/Password"

Just FYI, chances are your FL Inverter is gone. This is typically the most common issue with laptop LCD's going blank like that. If that is the issue, the part is cheap and it only takes about 15 to 30 minutes to fix. If it's not under warranty, a reputable shop should be able to fix this for under $100.00 including the part and labor.

Also, if the video card is not what went bad, you can still use the laptop by plugging it into an external monitor. This is how a shop would test to see if the problem is the video card or not. If it works, it's not the video card (leaving you either a bad LCD Screen, or a bad FL Inverter). Anyhow, using an external monitor will most likely require you to use a key combination to swap to the external. Typically it's the "function key" plus something like F8. To find out for sure, check the manual for your unit.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
