|Yes, you have to enable the ethernet port & yes, you have to install the network drivers. I don't know why you disabled it in the 1st placed...even though it was unused, it would have done no harm keeping it enabled & it in no way slows the system.|
If you disabled it in the BIOS, go back & enable it. Re-enable it in Device Manager, then install the drivers. And since you've had this system for a couple of years(?) now, there are probably updated drivers available.
