Extremely annoying packet loss

Specs: Windows 7
Sometimes when I tracert yahoo.com it runs perfectly, or this happens.

It's extremely annoying and it makes online gaming impossible for me.

Any fixes? I've had this problem for around 5 years.

You would want to compare a good tracert with this one to see if the bad one takes a different path.

This is all up to your isp. I certainly wouldn't have put up with this for 5 years. The isp is the only one that may be able to make this change for you.

#2 is your isp and they also appear to have a problem. Over subscribed would be my guess.

It appears to be taking the same route every time.

Oh, and if it helps my modem keeps going out sometimes. Like the cable light will start blinking/shut off rarely.

I would ask the isp to replace the modem. It would be a good start
