I have an Acer Aspire T180 computer with Time Warner cable and Windows Vista. I can't get the ethernet cable to work. The usb does, but as soon as I connect the ethernet cable, I lose connection.
What are you plugging the Ethernet cable into. I imagine one end goes into the computer, but what is the other end plugged into. I think you should be aware that you cannot have two live Internet connections on the same computer simultaneously.

I'm plugging it into an Arris Touchstone Telephone Modem that was provided by Time Warner. Right now I'm connected to the internet through a usb connection. When I try the ethernet, I disconnect the usb completely.
Ok, if you already have a working internet connection through the USB connector provided by your ISP, my question is, why are you now plugging in your ethernet? What is it you're trying to achieve?
