Easy way to setup small website from home?

Specs: Windows 10, I7
For the past few years I have been paying Hostgator for my website but my site is only used by me like a cloud. I use it to upload data and files like receipt copies used for my business while I travel. Is there an easy way for me buy a server or just use a laptop that is always turned on at my house to access my site remotely just using my Comcast ISP?

Why don't you just use a cloud storage site like Microsoft Onedrive, Dropbox, Livedrive, Google Drive, etc?

And pretty much any of those options are going to be much cheaper than website hosting.

You could think about buying a NAS box. Many of them (for example Synology ones) have this sort of functionality built in. They are designed to be left on all the time and use very little power. And they provide an easy "set it up and forget it" way of backing up your computer(s).

Because it's an actual website not just file uploads.

Ok that's the type of answer I'm looking for I will look into it and see if that works for my situation. I'm surprised they don't have plug n play servers already that even noobs can use

That's basically what a NAS is. A plug and play server that can fulfil many functions.
