Specs: Windows 7
due to security reasons, my company resricted access to hard disk.
Is it possible to work on AutoCAD 2011 with exterior back-up disk in lieu of built in hard disk?

If you job requires that you use AutoCAD 2011 then I would have thought that it was the responsibility of the IT department to make sure that you can. Have you tried contacting them?

Thanks for your reply.
Yes indeed its their responsibility, but thus far they could not resolve the matter and therefore I am looking for assitance from the outside.

I'm not familiar with this application but I would suggest your company's IT people look at an external USB hard drive to attach to your laptop. It may be necessary to first uninstall the CAD program and then connect the USB drive and then reinstall the CAD program to that external drive to get it working.

Usually when security is an issue external drives are also not allowed.

Why restrict local drive access if you wanted that information getting to a usb stick or external drive?

I suspect we are missing some information here. For example, you do have a network share that they want you to sent the autocad drawing to?

IVatwork why do you think you need an external drive? Autocad still works right?
