First off, you can't "downgrade" from 2k3 to 2000. You can install 2000 after wiping 2k3.

Actually, now that I think about it, you can do both at the same time (ie: wipe 2k3 and then install 2000). To do it though, you need to boot from the 2000 CD. If you're not booting to it, then you need to go into your BIOS and change the boot order so it boots to the CD before booting to the hard drive.

Thanks a lot for your response.
But the thing is in my case the in a Bio's Setting i have already configured it to boot from the CD. The problem though is it tries to boot from the CD but it starts from the hard disk. Nothing seems to work i even tried to downgrade it to windows XP SP2 and then win 2k, the windows XP OS was unable to recognize the hard disk.

Please.........help me out

If you're unable to boot to your CD, then there's something wrong with either your CD or your CD-ROM.

the windows XP OS was unable to recognize the hard disk.

If it were me, I'd download a DOS based bootdisk from http://www.bootdisk.com/. Then I would boot with it and use the fdisk utility on the bootdisk (make sure it's on there before you start) the drive to remove any/all partitions and then create one big FAT32 partition on the disk. Then I would boot from the 2000 CD and begin the install.
