Disconnects with wired connection to router

Linksys Wrt54g wireless router

Specs: Windows Vista, AMD X3 3.21GHz / 4 Gig ram
I recently moved to another town and I'm using cox broadband. I used my surfboard 5100 with my router before but cox told me I needed to buy a 5101. Since then I've been having frequent disconnects when going through the router with a wired connection. Every couple of minutes or so the connection will time out for maybe 10 seconds. I can't even access the router interface during these time outs. When bypassing the router, the connection is fine. Talking to reps from both companies is useless. Linksys wants me to use a fee-based phone service so they can tell me I'll probably need to buy newer linksys equipment, cox tells me there's an outage that, for some reason, will cause my internet to mess up with the router connected but fine when bypassed.

I've reset to factory defaults and installed the newest firmware (v8). I've tried mac cloning. I tried resetting to factory default on the modem. Also unplugged and turned back on in the modem, router, computer sequence. The cables are fine and there's one splitter when coming off the wall.

Downstream: SNR 37.5dB // Power Level 2.1dBmV
Upstream: Power Level 43.2dBmV

Do the modem, router, PC sequence again.
Then from a command prompt, when everything is working, run ipconfig /all

When it disconnects, run ipconfig /all again. Compare the two outputs. If you don't understand them, post them here.

Unplugged and powered up in the modem/router/computer sequence. I actually thought it worked and for maybe an hour or two I had uninterrupted internet. Then I started getting some time outs. They're hard to catch because they will disappear so quickly but they're enough to disconnect you from games and streaming video. The ipconfig log during the time out was the same as normal:
