DHCP clients not picking up from server,

July 18, 2013 at 13:48:44
Specs: Windows XP, AMD X2, 1G custom built
I have 3 XP Pro stations with a POS on one. Set up in a pear-2-pear configuration. All stations have SP3, I have been slowly loosing network capabilities as we go. Along with the DHCP problem, which could be part of the problem. I have not seen DHCP assignments not work. I have set up static addressing for the current time.

I have previously read that SP3 messed that up.

Does anybody have any suggestions of a fix or different work around? This has becoming a large frustration for myself and my client.

Nothing in sp3 messes up networking.

" I have been slowly loosing network capabilities as we go"
can you provide some specifics?

what is your dhcp server?

"I have set up static addressing "
Great. So what is broken then with the network?

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

Set up in a pear-2-pear configuration

You mean peer-2-peer.

A pear is a type of fruit and two of a kind is a pair.
