December 8, 2009 at 18:50:54
Specs: Windows XP
I want to deploy VoIP systems in my network.
I have L3 switch which is Cisco 3560 POE 48
ports switches.
I read some topics here, is it L3 switches is
good for deploy VOIP ??

I need to separate the Voice VLAN and Data
VLAN...
I got a question, the Voice and Data VLAN..
is it the Voice VLAN 100 and Data VLAN 100
are there same VLAN?

In my opinion, PoE capability is more important that L3 capability. Unless of course, you don't have any routers in your environment in which case you'd need the L3 capability.

I got a question, the Voice and Data VLAN..
is it the Voice VLAN 100 and Data VLAN 100
are there same VLAN?

Lets see...................
VoIP VLAN ID = 100
Data VLAN ID = 100

Is 100 and 100 the same thing?

You obviously do not understand fully what VLAN's and VLAN tagging are all about. I highly recommend you do a lot more reading and research before undertaking to deploy VLAN's in your environment. If at all possible, get some training.

To answer my question above, 100 and 100 ARE the same VLAN tag. Ergo, they are the same VLAN.

However, 100 and 101 are NOT the same tag/VLAN. 100 and 555 are not, as 100 and 284 are not, as 100 and 43 are not, etc etc etc
