Solved dell latitude e6510 wireless wont take the password I put in

Specs: Macintosh
when I put in my WEP password for my wireless home network the Dell keeps rejecting it as not correct... it is correct.. i have 2 phones and two other PCs connected.. why does it keep telling me it is incorrect?
I'm running multiple versions of O/S on MAC AND PC'S AND I PHONE AND DROID auugg

Is the Dell looking for administrator? Try that. Disable the firewalls too.

With WEP you need to go into the advanced configuration and ensure not only that the WEP key is correct but the key type (Open/shared) is correct and the key sequence number (1 to 4) is also correct. The better option if your other devices are compliant would be to use WPA instead of WEP since WEP can be hacked in as little as 5 minutes.

Thanks a bunch. It turned out to be the configuration of the device not the laptop and once I changed the security from WEP to WPA .. it works like a charm! :)
