Dell Laptop takes a long time to connect to cable internet

February 3, 2017 at 13:18:29
Specs: Windows 7
Laptop takes a long time to connect to cable internet. Dell Inspiron 5700. Everytime I turn it on it takes more than 5 minutes to connect to internet- spinning wheel over the icon on bottom right. Even after spinning wheel is gone, it takes 2 more minutes after I click on Mozilla icon to get to my hope page.

I wish i could attach a screenshot my Event Viewer's errors in Windows 7. Does anyone know how to do that?

In any case I seem to get these errors a lot:

3 Kernel EventTracing

7 cdrom

10 WMI

1000 Application

1001 Dhcp Client.

7000 Service Control Manager
7006 Service Control Manager
7009 Service Control Manager
7022 Service Control Manager
7034 Service Control Manager

Can anyone help?

"I wish i could attach a screenshot my Event Viewer's errors in Windows 7. Does anyone know how to do that?"

These logs will give me the full info.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not the Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.
If we have to run Farbar more than once, refer this SS.
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the Desktop.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt)
The logs are large, upload them using one of these. No account/registration needed. Give us the links please.

"I guess i shouldn't worry about 10, from what I read, correct?"
Those negative comments have been thrown at every Windows operating system.
I have been using W10 from almost day 1.

If the upgrade install is tried from a comp that already has problems ( known or unknown ) the result will be frustrating.

Nothing beats a clean install & even that can take days, It involves deleting all the partitions after you have made sure you have backups of all your important stuff.

Let me know if you want to go down the W10 path.

Johnw -
I meant correcting error 10. Should I do it? Is it slowing down my system?

Not only the 10 error, but the 0x80041003 error.

Doubt if it is slowing down the comp, you will be in the best position to judge that.

Up to you if you fix, it just means some error reporting cannot be logged.
"Details - Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected."

Next step.

Copy & Paste the text in Blue below & save it into Notepad on your Desktop & name it fixlist.txt
NOTE: It is important that Notepad is used. The fix will not work if Word or some other program is used.
NOTE: It is important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

Open FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that, let the tool complete its run.
When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please Copy & Paste the contents into your reply.
Refer these SS if needed.
