Connecting new laptop to home network

Specs: Windows Vista, 3ghz
Just got new laptop and would like to connect it too my "home network". 2 existing deck top pc are hardwired to a router. Can I connect new laptop in order to share printer. Laptop has windows 7 desk tops have vista and xp. Thanks in anvance

This shouldn't be a problem if your laptop has a RJ45 network connector. All you need is a straight-through Cat5 cable to connect the laptop to an open port on the router. (Most have 4 ports) RJ45 connectors look like large telephone plugs.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping and is it possible to connect the laptop wirelessly to the network, with out the Cat5?
