Connecting music server to wireless bridge

February 4, 2011 at 19:04:56
Specs: Windows Vista
I have an Escient Fireball E-20 which only has an ethernet port. I have a wireless broadband at home and cannot seem to get my extra 2wire 2700hg-b wireless router to work as a wireless ethernet bridge. several sources give the same instructions on how to convert it to wireless bridge mode but I can't seem to get my Escient to work when connected to the 2700hg-b

Could the problem be that my wireless router is also from 2Wire?

Truth is I am totally ignorant abour internet connectivity so my guess is I am not configuring either the 2Wire 2700hg-b correctly (even though as I already stated, I am following the directions several other sources have given) or I am not configuring my E-120 correctly...

If I can't get this to work my next attempt will be with a pair of Asoka powerline adapters...but I hate the thought of having to spend more money just because I'm too stupid to set-up my wireless bridge!

Any help will be very much appreciated

Might want to read this sometime concerning posting your email address publically

Why are you trying to use your extra 2wire as a bridge?

Can't you just connect the music server to your existing router?

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

Hello Wanderer

Thanks for your reply.

My router is in a different room than my stereo equipment that is why I need to rely on my wireless internet...

I have been playing with and setting-up my Fireball with a direct connection to my wired/wireless router but I will be using it with my audio equipment which is in a different room.

Any ideas?
