Specs: Windows XP
Hi, I am a novice and therefore need help with precise settings. I have searchd the internet but cannot find anywhere that sets out exactly settings and numbers and what I should do.
Here is my situation. I am trying to extend my broadband signal out from the house to a rumpus room. My current setup does not give a signal that far.. or at least it is poor with 1 mbps speed. To cable anything other than my moden to router A is not an option. Router A to Router B and then on to the computers needs to be wireless,
My modem is currently connected to router A (Dlink dl624) but how do I get router B (dlink dir635) to talk to router A and then relay my broadbad to my computer out in the rumpus room and also inside the house when I am there.
My routers are 1 x dir635 and 1 x dl624. Which router (A) should connect to the modem and what are the exact settings I should be using for the other router (B) to get it to talk to that one and my computers. Simplified setup is what I need. I had a computer guy come to do this for me but after he left I had nothing... no broadband,,, nix, I managed to get set up again with just the one router but now I am back to where I started from. Therefore I am reluctant to get someone in again to help,
Any help from here much appreciated by this senior computer kid.

Ditch the 624 and get one of these:

I don't believe either of your present routers supports repeater mode so keep the higher spec N model and get a range extender.

thanks for the info. I was hoping not to have to spend anymore on gear but I guess I have to consider that.
