Hi, I bought a use Linksys BEFSR41v4 with no disc. Thought I could easily download software. Not. I have 3 computers I want to get online and work together. They will all get online individually, but when I insert the router, they won't do anything. The internet light comes on and the switch lights, but can't get on. Also won't talk to each other. Help please.

Have you configured the router to authenticate to your ISP?
If you are connected to the router by wire, open your internet browser and type in 192.168.1.1 and configure your router.
For detailed information on how to configure the router, read the manual.
If you haven't got a manual, you can download it at www.linksys.com.

I had a BEFSR41 that ran for several years with out problem. You
don't need any software to set up. Read the manual.

If you have a cable connection, Your isp may have setup your Internet using the MAC address of the computer adapter originaly connected to the modem. You may have to clone your adapter MAC address to the router. The cable company will then see the router as the address of the original adapter. The router can then send out DHCP address to the computers on the network.
To find the MAC address type "ipconfig/all at command prompt. Physical address is MAC address.
You can access your router in your browser at 192.168.1.1.
